Since opening back in 1929 under the ownership of Mr. & Mrs. Ingwald Nelson (who owned the resort until 1947), High Banks has been providing relaxing and fun vacations on Lake Winnibigoshish ("Winnie") for the camping, fishing and outdoors enthusiasts as well as families looking for a relaxing getaway.

They are new, tight and well built some with glazed porches and all tightly screened and comfortable regardless of weather. Several have split rock fireplaces…..all are completely equipped for housekeeping including linens, necessary cooking utensils, ice and fuel and electric lights. Colorful resort stationary supplied on request. You’ll certainly want to write home about these northwoods cabins! The main lodge, picture on the front cover, well kept and homelike, offers, clean attractive rooms, with restful beds with innerspring mattresses. Cool and airy in the summer, with awnings at the windows and a large screened porch. Electric Lighted. A supply store on the grounds provides groceries, beer, soft drinks, fishing tackle, licenses, etc. Gas and oil for your car. Come anticipating a care-free vacation, with the assurance we will do everything possible to see that you have a wonderful time”
